About Us

Home of juniata College equestrian team

The Intercollegiate Horse Show Association seeks to make equestrian competition available to any college student, without regard to the student’s financial resources, riding level, or show experience. At IHSA events, all competitors ride horses provided by the host college, and riders are matched with their mounts through a random draw.

IHSA shows are fun and exciting, with competition at a range of levels from beginner (walk/trot) through experienced (open) with opportunities to compete over fences. Points are awarded both individually and towards the team overall.

Equestrian Team members do not need to have a horse in order to compete; in fact, IHSA rules require the host team to provide all the horses for the competition. Riders may choose to bring their own horse and board at Fox Run Riding.

As a “Club” sport, any student is welcome to try-out. Our team members range from beginners who enjoy weekly lessons to our competitive team.
